Dr. Dan Rascher has played an integral role in shaping the landscape of collegiate athletics through his expertise in sport economics, NCAA legal cases, and athlete rights. For more than 20 years, his work has informed landmark legal decisions, including O’Bannon v. NCAA (2014) and NCAA v. Alston (2021), where his expert testimony helped advance student-athlete rights and compensation. Dr. Rascher’s economic analysis of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies also produced a model that has led to more than $208 million in payments to collegiate athletes.
In addition to his work on NIL, Dr. Rascher teaches Sport Economics & Finance and the Master’s Project in the USF Sport Management program.
